About

Welcome to EA Travel Hub, a specialist East Africa travel blog with a focus on independent travel in the region.

My name is Ross, and I first visited East Africa as a tourist in 2012. Since then, I have spent time in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Mauritius, Zambia, and Malawi, and have traveled independently in each of the aforementioned countries.

I am also a Senior Content Writer for Magic Word Media, a content agency in Ipswich, UK. I work remotely from my home in Uganda. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn if you want to collaborate!

Here I am on a trek to the summit of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second highest peak. It remains one of the biggest physical achievements of my life – it was a tough trek!

I have been permanently living in Uganda since 2021, and I love my life in the southwestern part of the country, not far away from Queen Elizabeth National Park.

I decided to set up this blog to share some of my experiences of traveling in this part of the world in the hope that it inspires you to visit.

All of my articles are based on my firsthand experiences in East Africa, and I offer tips and tricks for planning your upcoming trip.

I also recommend places to visit, where to stay, and how to get around, helping you plan a trip to East Africa without necessarily having to rely on a tour company to arrange everything for you.

Should you have any questions or would like to share your own experiences with visitors to this site, please do feel free to leave a comment below any of my posts to further the conversation.

Karibu Sana – I hope you enjoy the articles on my site!
